Native American Indigenous People’s Month

The program will feature Cultural Educator Josephine Smith of the Shinnecock Nation. Ms. Smith will present the current social justice threats to the preservation of Native American culture and history.
Ms. Josephine will discuss several social justice issues facing indigenous people such as:
- The federal recognition processes
- getting land back that they lost
- The impact of the overdevelopment of Long Island and its impact on the survival of the Indigenous
