Through acts of kindness, courage and care, they have made a positive impact on Long Island. This includes champions from healthcare, retail, restaurant, non-profit, food grocery, public service, education, small businesses, labor unions, and more.
Four individuals associated with Suffolk County Community College have been selected for inclusion on the United Way’s Virtual Wall of Heroes: Interim President Louis J. Petrizzo for his leadership and resolve in guiding the College through the pandemic; Foundation Board Vice Chair Michael J. Grant who provided comfort for many dealing with personal loss as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic; Board of Trustee and Foundation Board member Belinda Pagdanganan, who mobilized an effort to show appreciation to first responders; and Special Events Team Specialist Danielle Groneman who co-founded the first disability-inclusive field hockey program in the United States, Field Hockey for All.
