SUBJECT: I am #SUNYCC Social Media Campaign
I am pleased to share with the College community, that SUNY has launched a marketing campaign to assist in promoting enrollment in its community colleges. As students and their families consider whether to stay close to home for the fall 2020 semester in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the campaign attempts to point out the value of staying local and attending community college.
The campaign is regionalized and includes Long Island as one of six regions where SUNY will use digital marketing and television to link potential students with their local community college. When prospective students respond to the SUNY advertisement by clicking a link seeking further information, the student receives an automatic acknowledgement from SUNY and the community college enrollment team receives an email from SUNY requesting they complete outreach to the student.
To further bolster this campaign, SUNY has asked each community college to encourage grassroots social media generated by various community college constituencies (current students, 2020 graduates, alumni, supporters, parents, employers, faculty, administrators, and staff). To participate in supporting this campaign, constituents are asked to create a short video or post photos that share why SUNY community colleges are valuable to them personally and/or professionally.

Join us in raising awareness for SUNY’s 30 Community Colleges (CCs) with the “I am #SUNYCC” social media campaign which is part of the SUNY CC Stay Near, Go Far marketing campaign focused on increasing enrollment and highlighting the importance of SUNY CCs to NYS students and communities. Please share why SUNY CCs are valuable to you personally and professionally.
How to Participate:
Step 1: Create a short video on your phone (1-2 minutes) or post a photo using one of the “I am SUNY CC” statement prompts below
Step 2: Post the video or photo with statement to your social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) using hashtags #SUNYCC & #SUNYstayneargofar & #SUNYSFLK add the call to action: https://www.suny.edu/communitycollege•
