You’re invited! We are encouraging all Suffolk County Community College faculty, staff, students, alumni and family members to join us and march in support of this important community event.
With support from tens of thousands of spectators lining the parade route along Fifth Avenue in Brentwood, thousands of marchers will head north for almost 1½ miles from the Southern State Parkway Service Road to 4th Avenue. This iconic parade unites diverse Latino cultures, celebrating traditions, music, dance, food, and great spirit! The many marchers and other participants welcome and include non-Latinos in a demonstration of community solidarity!
We will announce the meet up location the week before the parade. The position line-up begins at 10 a.m., and all participants must be in position before 11:00 a.m., as streets will eventually be closed. The parade starts at 12 noon.
Please wear Suffolk blue, or Suffolk logo shirt, or feel free to represent your heritage!
We will walk rain or shine. Let’s hope for great weather.
We will provide refreshments, coffee, water and snacks.
We will have flags, and you are encouraged to bring your own as well.
Wear sunscreen and comfortable sneakers/shoes for walking.
