Come march with Suffolk County Community College at the 56th annual Puerto Rican Hispanic Day Parade of Long Island.
With tens of thousands of spectators lining the parade route along Fifth Avenue in Brentwood, thousands of marchers will head north for almost 1½ miles from the Southern State Parkway Service Road to 4th Avenue. This iconic Parade unites diverse Latino cultures, celebrating traditions, music, dance, food, and great spirit! The many tens of thousands of marchers and other participants welcome and include non-Latinos in a demonstration of community solidarity!
We are encouraging all College faculty, staff, students, alumni and families to join us and march in support of this important community event.
- The College’s parade line-up position is #38. Anyone planning to march should meet the College team Walbridge Avenue (off Fifth Avenue) in Bay Shore, NY at 10 a.m. The position line-up begins at 10 a.m., and all participants must be in position before 11 a.m. as streets will eventually be closed. The parade starts at 12 noon.

- The weather forecast calls for a perfect 73-degree day, however we will walk rain or shine.
- We will provide a light breakfast, coffee, water and snacks.
